Freedom fighter Abu Sayeed Ahmed, younger brother of Colonel (retd) Abu Taher, died on Thursday in the city. He was 74.
His family sources said Abu Sayeed died at about 7pm at his NAM Bhaban residence. He had been suffering from diabetic and paralysis for long.
He left behind a daughter and host of relatives to mourn his death.
His body was taken to his native village Purbodhola in Netrokona. Different pro-liberation organisations, including Muktijoddah Sangsad, paid tribute to the veteran freedom fighter.
He was buried following a namaz-e-janaza after Jumah prayer yesterady.
