Sheikh Abdul Quayum, a valiant freedom fighter and chairperson of Khulna Citizen Forum , died of cancer at the Khulna Medical College and Hospital (KMCH) on Wednesday night.He was 66.
He left behind his wife, one son, one daughter, relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
Quyaum, a member of Swadhin Bangla Chhatra Sangram Parisad, joined the Liberation War in 1971 under the Bangabandhu Liberation Front (BLF – Mujib Bahini) in greater Khulna.
He was buried after Zohr prayer at the Tutpara graveyard in Khulnar after Namaz-e-Janaza.
