Awami League (AL) leader and eminent freedom fighter Sakee Chowdhury died of cardiac arrest at a hospital in Chittagong in the early hours of Tuesday.
He was 65. He left behind four sons and daughters and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
His first Namaz-e-Janaza was held on city’s MES School premises at Andarkilla at 10 am.
Following his second Namaz-e-Janaza, Sakee was laid to eternal rest at his native village Paindang under Fatikchhari upazila of the district after Asr prayers on Tuesday.
