Shroddhananda Mohathero, Deputy leader of the Supreme Songha Council (Monastic Order) of Bangladesh Buddha Bhikkhu Mohasabha, died of old-age complications at a hospital in Chittagong on Tuesday. He was 80.
Shroddhananda served as a chief abbot of Meherati Jongli Goshai Buddha Bihar for some time. Besides, he also served as a chief abbot of different Buddha monastery including Bangladesh Buddhist Monastery in Bodh Gaya, India, Katalganj Nobo Pandith Buddha Bihar in Chittagong city and Panchariya Gandhakuti Bihar in Chittagong district at different periods.
