Abdul Rashid, a valiant Freedom Fighter (FF) of Gazipura village under Tongi upazila in Gazipur, died of old-age complications at his village home on Thursday night. He was 70.
Rashid left behind his wife, a son, four daughters and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
He was buried at his family graveyard with full state honour following Namaz-e-Janaza held at Gazipura Eidgah Maidan on Friday.
A large number of people from all walks of life including Gazipur Zila Muktijoddha Sangsad commander and former lawmaker Alhaj Kazi Mozammel Haq, freedom fighters, businessmen and local elite attended the Namaz-e-Janaja.
