Monir Hossain, General Secretary of 33 no ward of Dhaka City South Awami League, died of cardiac arrest at his residence in the city on Monday. He was 56.
He left behind him wife, a daughter and a host of relatives and well wishers to mourn his death.
The Namaz-e-Janaza of Monir Hossain was held at Bangsal Bangladesh Math in the city and later he was buried at Azimpur graveyard.
Ruling party leaders, including former member of parliament Dr Mostafa Jalal Mahiuddin, Dhaka City South Awami League President Abdul Hasnat and General Secretary Shah-e Alam Murad, among others, attended the Namaz-e-Janaza.
