Renowned South Korean actor O Yeong-su has made history as the first ever Korean actor to win a Golden Globe award. The Squid Game star won the award in the television category for best-supporting actor, for the popular Netflix series. The 77-year-old actor played the elderly player no 001 Oh Il-nam, the secret mastermind behind the series of deadly games at the centre of the path-breaking Korean language survival drama show. It is his first nomination and win at the awards, currently facing a boycott from crucial players due to alleged lack of diversity.
