Nursing MSc. education programme has been introduced for the first time in the country aiming to create skilled nursing professionals.
The nursing MSc. education programme was formally inaugurated at a function in the auditorium of Directorate General of Nursing and Midwifery Services (DGNMS) on January 18, a press release said.
Professor Dr. Kamrul Hasan Khan of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), Country Director of The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Joe Hyun-Gue, Additional secretary of the Health and Family Welfare Subhash Chandra Sarkar and DG of DGNMS, Ms. Shuraiya Begum, among others, were present at the function.
This MSc. program will open a new horizon for Bangladesh to demonstrate the advance level modernized nursing education system, the press release added.
Under the KOICA supported project “Establishment of the National Institute of Advanced Practice Nurses in Bangladesh,” the MSc. nursing education programme has been developed to improve quality of nursing education.
The main objective of this project is to establish an advanced higher level nursing education centre in Bangladesh in order to develop knowledgeable and qualified nurses and fulfill the shortage in this noble profession.
