UNB, Sirajganj :
A senior nurse of Sirajganj General Hospital has been suspended for renting out her house to some Jamaat-Shibir men at Rahamatganj in the district town.
Hasia Khatun, senior staff nurse of the hospital, was relieved of her duty on Sunday following a suspension order signed by Director of the Nursing Institute Nasima Parveen.
Acting deputy superintendent of the hospital Rawshan Ara Parveen said Hasia was suspended for her suspected involvement with seditious activities. Officer-in-charge of Detective Branch of district police Waheduzzaman said some 8/10 Jamaat-Shibir men used to live in a house owned by Hasia.
On July 25, police conducted a raid on the house and recovered some Jihadi books. However, police could not arrest anyone from the house.
Later, Superintendent of Police of the district Miraz Uddin Ahmed informed the hospital authorities that Jamaat-Shibir activists took shelter in the house to devise plans for carrying out subversive activities.
Later, the hospital authorities decided to suspend the nurse.
