UNB, Narayanganj :The district administration has taken away the licences of 11 firearms of Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) councillor Nur Hossain, the prime accused in the seven-murder case.Deputy Commissioner of the district Anisur Rahman Miah cancelled the licences on Monday, asking the police to immediately seize the firearms.Sources said, Nur Hossain had obtained licences for the firearms in his names, but his associates had been using those.Meanwhile, plainclothes police have arrested another killer suspect of the abduction and murder of NCC panel mayor Nazrul Islam and six others.A source at the Detective Branch of police said a DB team arrested Ratan tracking his mobile phone as he had been using the mobile phone set of slain lawyer Chandan Kumar Sarker. On April 27, Narayanganj panel mayor Nazrul Islam, his three associates and driver, were abducted by miscreants from Fatullah area of the city. Hours after their abduction, senior lawyer at district Judge’s Court Chandan Kumar Sarker and his driver were also abducted on their way to capital Dhaka.Three days into their abduction, the bodies of six people, including that of Nazrul and Chandan Kumar, were recovered from the Shitalakhya and Dhaleshwari rivers on April 30.Besides, another body, believed to be of Jahangir, the car driver of Nazrul Islam, was recovered from the Shitalakhya River on May 1.
