The number of corona-infected casualties in Sylhet Division is increasing in an alarming rate everyday. The number of corona patients is about three thousands. A total 90 persons were infected with the covid-19 in the last 24 hours.
Sources said that the number of infected patients is increasing rapidly in the area not to maintain the health instruction properly.
To restrain the covid-19, a strong lockdown has been also announced in infected districts of the division.
Some 2,891 individuals tested positive of coronavirus in Sylhet division till Friday. Of these 1,640 are in Sylhet district, 757 in Sunamganj, 265 in Habiganj and 229 in Moulvibazar district, according to sources at District Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Anisur Rahman, Assistant Director (AD), Department of Health in the Sylhet Divisional Office, said that at least 90 people have been infected with Covid-19 in the Sylhet division in the last 24 hours. So far, 56 people have died, 198 are hospitalized and about 638 people have returned home after recovering from different hospitals in this Division. Besides, currently, 1,407 people were taken under home quarantine in this division, 598 in Sylhet, 475 in Sunamganj, 17 in Habiganj and 317 in Moulvibazar districts, Divisional Office added.
