Northern University Bangladesh (NUB) inaugurated yearlong programme marking 100th birth anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the university premises on Sunday.
Hasan Mahmud, MP, Information Minister was present as the chief guest while Dr. Moshiur Rahman, Economic Adviser of Prime Minister was present as the guest of honor.
Poet Habibullah Siraji, Director General of Bangla Academy and Dr. Anwar Hossain, Vice-Chancellor of NUB were also present as the special guests there. Dr Yusuf Md. Abdullah, Chairman of the NUB Trustee Board and Vice-Chancellor of the Northern University of Business and Technology Khulna presided over the programme.
While speaking Dr. Hasan Mahmud said “This research center has been established to preserve the Millennial History and heritage of the Bangla and Bengali nation in the sincere efforts of Northern University Bangladesh. It will also help the new generation to understand the personality, heroism, honesty, patriotism, political insight, and integrity and leadership qualities of the father of the nation”.
There are many rare manuscripts and books published home and abroad are available in hard copies in the research center.
