The National Technical Advisory Committee on Covid-19 has asked authorities concerned to reopen factories in phases so that factory workers do not have to return to Dhaka at the same time.
The committee said this in a press release on Tuesday signed by its chairman Mohammad Shahidullah.
It is necessary to ensure the participation of law enforcement agencies to implement the rules and regulations announced by the government to prevent the spread of Covid-19, the National Technical Advisory Committee (NTAC) said in the release.
Also, participation and effective cooperation of various stakeholders are particularly needed to implement these guidelines, the release further said.
The committee also recommended a mandatory 14-day institutional quarantine for passengers arriving from India, suggested to stop all unofficial travel through land borders.
Both the transmission situation in Bangladesh and the current Covid situation of India must be carefully reviewed, the release suggested.
