NRBC Bank introduces offshore banking

NRB Commercial (NRBC) Bank is disbursing loans giving priority to cottage, micro and small scale industries and agriculture sector in remote areas of the country, said SM Parvez Tomal, Chairman of the bank.
“The bank has introduced technology-based sub-branch services by coming out from the traditional branch-based banking concept. Making easier to ensure corporate good governance and compliance, the bank is going to start fully digitalized online services very soon,” Tomal said at a meet-the-press event at Hotel Sonargaon in the capital on Thursday.
The Bank’s Director and Chairman of the Risk Management Committee AM Saidur Rahman, Entrepreneur Mohammad Ali Chowdhury, Managing Director Mukhtar Hossain and Additional Managing Director Kazi Talha, among others, were present.
Inaugurating the bank’s offshore banking unit to encourage foreign trade, Tomal claimed the bank is now turned into a full-fledge bank in the country.
Disbursing loans to the backward people through private lending agencies (NGOs) and to provide other services to the remote people, the bank is setting up booths and sub-branches in different part of the rural areas, Tomal said.
