The family members of Feni madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi said they are happy with the judgement against former OC Moazzem Hossain.
A Dhaka court on Thursday sentenced him to eight years of rigorous imprisonment in the case filed under the Digital Security Act.
“We’re satisfied with the verdict. Nusrat’s soul will rest in peace now,” Nusrat’s younger brother Rashedul Hasan Raihan said while talking to media after the verdict.
Raihan and his maternal uncle Syed Selim were present in the courtroom during the judgement.
“No officer-in-charge will dare to harass any girl or woman anymore,” said Raihan adding that we want to thank the government as well as the prosecution for the judgement.
Syed Selim said OC Moazzem deserves the punishment. “If he took proper steps, then Nusrat would not have died. We are happy with the verdict,” he added.
