War no more, I seek peace
Peace O calm and quiet like milk-white catkin
Like pigeons flying in the blue sky
Like grazing cow in the field wide open.
I seek peace like these
Like sweet fragrance of night jasmine
The autumn flower that embraces dropping dews
And the rose petals that diffuse fragrance
While dropping downward.
I want that kind of peace.
I seek peace of gallinule tiptoeing
Inside aquatic Kalmi cluster.
I seek the peace
Of bamboo groves drooping in affection
The peace in which the spring go down
In meandering cascades
I seek the very peace
Like the quiet of sunset at the boundless sea.
The way the fire bugs fly like twinkling stars
I want that peace.
The peace of accumulated ice on the Himalayas
Let such peace issue forth
From the blade of plough
Let peace pour in shower
From the innocent love of the virgin maid.
Let peace build edifice
With the ten fingers of the youth
I seek peace infallible like the articulate
Recital of poems.
I seek peace of the tunic of my mother
Peace as first love letter from the beloved
So farewell to arms, I seek peace
Peace O calm and quiet like milk-white catkin.
Myself
– Mohammad Mamun Mia
I’m the king of my own kingdom;
I prefer to do things with freedom.
I care nobody here except the Creator;
I like to accept challenges as a competitor.
I believe in myself in the living entity;
I find myself in the suffering humanity.
I’m an outspoken and want to reform society;
I’ve the valour to uproot the existing depravity.
I’ve an urge to all to follow the right path;
I like to live in the midst of knowledge sought.
I’ve a short time and no scope to waste
I’ve to perform duties before taking death taste.
I’ve to go to the eternal nest;
I’m always ready to take there rest.
