UNB, Thakurgaon :Terming delirium BNP chairperson’s remark that he is the killer of her husband and Abul Mazur, Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad on Tuesday said Khaleda Zia herself a killer.”It’s Khaleda who is a killer, not me… she have killed many people at different parts of the country. Khaleda Zia should be tried,” he said.Ershad, also a special envoy to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, came up with the counter-attack on Khaleda while addressing a views-exchange meeting with his party leaders and activists at the district circuit house.Earlier on Sunday, Khaleda said Ershad is the killer of Abul Mazur and Ziaur Rahman and he should be tried.Addressing her party’s mass-hugger strike programme on the Jatiya Press Club premises, she also asked the government why the judgement of Ershad in Mazur murder case has been deferred.Reacting to Khaleda’s remarks, Ershad said, “I got stunned hearing her speech. BNP was in power for several terms while Khaleda Zia was the Prime Minister. But she had not raised any question about it then. I condemn her speech.”The former military dictator went on saying: “Khaleda sees dark around as she has no political future. So she is raving and saying everything as per her whim.”The Jatiya Party chairman also said BNP has no capacity to overthrow the government by waging a movement. “BNP is neither in Jatiya Sangsad nor in movement. In fact, the party has no power to topple the government by a waging movement.”Comparing his party with BNP, Ershad claimed that Jatiya Party is in a better position in the present context.Voicing deep concern over the country’s sliding law and order, the former president said people are now not safe as the incidents of killing, abduction and forced disappearance marked a sharp rise.”People are passing their days in panic. They can’t even sleep in peace. Forced disappearance, killing and abduction are undermining the good activities of the government. The government should uphold its image by improving the country’s law and order situation,” he added.
