The Bangladesh Cholochchitro Sangbadik Samity (BACHSAS) Awards will be given at the Diploma Engineering Institution’s Council Hall in the capital’s Kakrail area on April 25. Twelve personalities will be awarded at the ceremony for their contributions in the field of culture, says a press release.
Noted film actor Alamgir, filmmaker Chhotku Ahmed and cinematographer Abdul Latif Bachchu will be awarded at the ceremony. Eminent actor and Member of the Parliament Asaduzzaman Noor will also be honoured at the event, alongside thespians Ramendu Majumdar and Ataur Rahman. Moreover, renowned singers Runa Laila and Syed Abdul Hadi will be awarded, alongside music director and lyricist Gazi Mazharul Anwar. Other awardees include journalist and researcher Rafiquzzaman, filmmaker and journalist Shahidul Huq Khan and film researcher and journalist Anupam Hayat.
Minister for Liberation War Affairs of Bangladesh A K M Mozammel Haque will grace the ceremony as the chief guest, while State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury will be the special guest. BACHSAS President Falguni Hamid will preside over the event. Besides the award-giving ceremony, an Iftar Mahfil will be organised on the day.
