BNP Standing Committing Member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain on Friday said that the ruling party’s student front Bangladesh Chhatra League had lost its past image and reputation, hold no moral values and ethics at present.
Referring to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s comment about loss of human values, Dr. Mosharraf said: “It is not the people, but the Chhatra League that had lost ethics and morality.”
He came up with the reaction while addressing a programme in the National Press Club.
Dr. Mosharraf also blamed BCL for carrying out anarchical activities in educational institutions across the country.
In the Parliament, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday blasted the spectators for not taking initiative to save life of Khadija Begum Nargis, a college student, when Badrul,
a BCL worker, was hacking her. About the search committee for appointment of next election commissioners, Dr. Mosharraf said, the government is trying to appoint another spineless election commission. “The countrymen will not accept such spineless EC,” he said, demanding talks with political parties before appointing next EC.
Pro-BNP organisation Swadhinata Forum arranged the programme in remembrance of BNP’s standing committee member ASM Hannan Shah, who died in Singapore last month.
Swadhinata Forum President and BNP central leader Abu Naser Muhammad Rahmatullah presided over the programme. BNP leader Joynal Abedin, Joynal Abedin Faruk, Sanaullah Mian, Kazi Muniruzzaman and Khaleda Yasmin, among others, were also present.
