Nor’wester damages houses, paddy fields in different Upazilas including Bijoynagar Upazila in Brahmanbarai on Monday.
The storm caused severe damage in nine unions except Singerbill UP of the upazila.
Many people have been injured in the storm, which has uprooted trees and knocked down houses.
Zahirul Islam, AGM of Palli Bidyut of the upazila informed about this.3 to 4 hundred trees were fallen in the village. These trees have fallen on the electricity poles. 20 poles, about 150 electricity meters, 20 transformers have failed.The power lines were torn in about 45 spots,He added that due to these losses, it will be possible to fully restore the power connection by tomorrow.
