Nor’wester damages crops, houses in Sherpur

In the border region of Sherpur district on Saturday , a severe Nor’wester caused damage to crops, electricity and houses.
In the evening after a few winds of stormy wind, the bus and house of the plants and the electricity connection of the plant and its lane became vandalized. In this, the district-upazila communication system was cut off by the trees on the only road to Sherpur-Jhenaigati.
After getting the news, Jhenaigati Fire Service started working on a few hours and cut off such trees and reopened the communication system. Meanwhile, newly elected chairman of Jhenaigati upazila Alhaz Abdullahel Warez Nayeem was present. It is to be noted that in the areas of the Baishakhi storm last night, many areas which have been damaged in the storm, many houses in Nalqura union’s Daphlai, Bhaluka, Shalchura, Rangtia, Haldigram, Sandhakura, Fakrabad, Bharua and Kangsha unions of Naukuchi, Ghajini, Bakakura house-house has been flown and it is full of sorrow. Many of these families are living under the open sky.
Besides, Kal-Baishakhi has overthrown the power plant in the storm. Hundreds of families have been displaced due to electricity connection disconnected from yesterday night. Kali-Boishakhi storms have suffered heavy losses in almost all unions of Jhenaigati upazila. Deficit-loss amount is about a few million taka. Many people were injured in the storm. But no reports of casualties were found yet.
The newly -elected Chairman of Jhenaigati Upazila, Alhaz Abdullahel Warez Nayeem and Upazila Women’s Vice Chairman Laily Begum visited storm damaged area and offered total support to the victims.
About this, Jhenaigati rescue and disaster management officer Mohammad Abdul Mannan contacted , said that the Baishakhi storm damaged the losses on the night.
