Despite allrounder Naeem Islam showed strong determination as North Zone still have not come out of the troubled water as they have scored 276 for 6 in their first innings against East Zone on the third day of four day Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) held on Monday at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong.
North Zone still trailed by 214 runs with four wickets in hand with one more day to go, only another determined morning performance with the bat tomorrow may allow them to escape to a tame draw. But if any untoward incident happens on the last day, like North Zone lose their last four wickets quickly without much addition, and then East Zone will have a great outside chance to pocket full points.
Resuming the first innings on the third day (Monday) with overnight score at 28 for no loss North Zone scored 276 for 6 against East Zone at stumps in reply to East Zone’s mammoth total 490.
Thanks to Naeem Islam for his responsible unbeaten knock off 85 runs and also to Suhrawadi Shuvo who was also unbeaten with 35 runs as they added priceless 64 runs for the unfinished 7th wicket partnership as the bails were drawn for the third day.
