North Zone, East Zone match ends in a draw after Naeem’s ton in BCL

The third round four-day match between North Zone and East Zone of Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) also ended in a tame draw held on Tuesday at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong.
Though East Zone were a bit comfortable position after the third day’s play, but super batting display North Zone batsmen ensured for their team for a expected draw after North Zone resumed their first innings on the fourth day (Tuesday) with overnight score at 276 for 6 and were all out for 404, in reply to East Zone’s massive first innings total of 490.
Thanks to overnight batsman Naeem Islam for him impressive 100-run knock from 284 balls that contained 11 boundaries. Suhrawardy Shuvo also added useful 59 runs from 101 balls with the help of seven boundaries. Sanzamul Islam was remained unbeaten with 52 runs.
Abul Hasan was the pick of East Zone bowler taking three wickets for 66runs. He was well supported by Alok Kapali who bagged two wickets conceding 17 runs.
Back with 86 runs first innings lead, East Zone started their second innings in the afternoon and scored 92 for 1 at stumps. Imtiaz Hossain and Tasamul Haque were remained unbeaten at 44 and 13 runs respectively.
Nasir Hossain took the lone South Zone’s wicket conceding 15 runs.
Afif Hossain of East Zone was named the player of the match.
