Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Atiqul Islam on Sunday said that none would be allowed to do business at the expense of people’s sufferings.
“No businessman will be allowed to sell goods on the footpath. If traders grab footpath to sell items, it creates public sufferings. It will not be allowed,” the mayor said while monitoring the Mohakhali kitchen market.
The mayor has examined if the price lists are hanged in open places or not, and if irregularities with consumers are done in the market, if any traders are charging extra price on any items like meats. If done, action will follow.
After monitoring the market, the mayor said that he had not found anything wrong in the market.
The mayor also said that his monitoring of markets would continue.
