During childhood as a child artiste, noted and celebrated film actress of the country Suchorita started acting in the silver screen. With the hands of three eminent filmmakers – Gazi Mazharul Anwar, Dilip Biswas and Azizur Rahman – Suchorita had stepped forward in the field of acting in the big screen. But none of them are alive now. Dilip Biswas and Azizur Rahman died earlier, while Gazi Mazharul Anwar died on September 4. With the demise of this legendary lyricist, Suchorita in a sense has become very lonely, according to the actress. Both Gazi Mazharul Anwar and Suchorita were living in the capital’s Baridhara Park Road. They were neighbourhood. After hearing the news of death of Gazi Mazharul Anwar, Suchorita went to deceased’s residence. She became mourned in this regard and she tried to give consolation to Gazi’s wife and son Upol.
Basically Suchorita respected Gazi Mazharul Anwar like her father. During childhood, she called him ‘Mama’ (maternal uncle). Gazi Mazharul Anwar also liked Suchorita as his daughter. He treated her as his elder daughter. Gazi saw how Suchorita became heroine from a child artiste in the film industry of the country. Under Gazi Mazharul Anwar’s direction, Suchorita acted in movies ‘Nantu Ghotok,’ ‘Sondhi’ and ‘Artonad.’
While recalling memories with Gazi Mazharul Anwar and others, Suchorita said, “I was really lucky because I got Gazi Mama, Aziz Mama and Dilip Kaku’s attachment during my childhood while came into acting in the silver screen. They had made me a real human being. During childhood, I used to wear my dresses by Aziz Mama’s own hands. In front of their eyes, I became heroine. I was very much fond of them. With their loves and guidance I could established myself as a heroine. I got huge loves from my fans and film-lovers of the country. But by whom I got these, they left me. None of them are alive today. I have become very lonely. At last, Gazi Mama also passed away. Really I have become so lonely today. I cannot express this loneliness in a word. I can only pray to Allah for giving Jannat to Gazi Mama.”
Suchorita informed that during wedding ceremony of Gazi Mazharul Anwar, she enjoyed on his Gaye Holud function. She can still remember those memories.
In Mustafiz’s movie ‘Kuli,’ Suchorita first acted as a child artiste. During that time her name was Helen. After this movie, as a child artiste, she also acted in movies ‘Nimai Sonyashi,’ ‘Obanchito,’ ‘Rong Berong,’ ‘Taka Ana Pai,’ ‘Koto Je Minoti,’ ‘Raj Mukut,’ ‘Bablu,’ among others. As a heroine, Suchorita acted in Azizur Rahman directorial movie ‘Swikrity,’ Dilip Biswas’s ‘Somadhi’ and Ashok Ghosh’s movie ‘Mastan.’
