Non-MPO teachers gratitude to PM

While the Ebtedayee Madrasa teachers continued their sit-in for the seventh consecutive day, non-MPO teachers on Sunday conveyed their gratitude towards Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her intervention to include them into the Monthly Payment Order (MPO) system.The teachers, after ending their five-day hunger strike following PM’s assurance, exclaimed their gratitude and thankfulness to the premier at a press briefing organised by Non-MPO Educational Institution Teachers-Staff Federation at the Jatiya Press Club in the city. “I, on behalf of the federation, express our gratitude and thankfulness to the honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for accepting our fair demand through this programme,” said Golam Mahmudunnnabi Dollar, president of the organisation.
Mentioning the PM’s assurance as a victory for them, Dr Binoy Bhushan Ray, general secretary of the federation, said it’s a result of their continuous movement since 2006 both in national and district levels.
Among others, central leaders of the federation were present at the press meet.
Meanwhile, the Ebtedayee madrasa teachers under the banner of ‘Independent Ebtedayee Madrasa Teachers Association’ continued their seventh day sit-in programme in front of JPC to press home their demand of nationalisation of their all registered institutions under the Madrasa Education Board.
General Secretary of the association Kazi Mokhlesur Rahman, in a press statement, said that the madrasa teachers will submit a memorandum in this regard to the Education Minister and Finance Minister on Sunday.
