Non-govt teachers of 400 institutions demand pay scale

About 1500 non- government teachers and lecturers of secondary schools and colleges brought out a procession and formed a human chain at Post office intersection of Jhenidah district town on Saturday morning demanding pay scale from the government .
On Saturday morning at around 11-00 am about 1500 teachers of 400 institutions brought out a rally in Jhenidah Post office intersection demanding pay scale from July, 15.
 Jhenidah District Teachers Association President Md. Mohiuddin and Bangladesh College and University Teachers’ Association President Subroto Mollik delivered speech at the meeting.
Jhenidah District Teachers’ Association President Md. Mohiuddin told that the non- government teachers are deprived financially. They get a little amount as house rent and only one time scale. No increment is given to the teachers annually. They get only basic salary which is quite impossible to maintain their families. A senior teacher gets only Tk 13,465.
He told in the rally that if their pay scale is not declared urgently like government employees, they will pronounce tougher programme. All the schools and college will be locked under key until their demand is met. Bangladesh College and University Teachers’ Association president Subroto Mollik echoed the same sentiment.
