Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique on Sunday said non-communal spirit is the key weapon for human emancipation.
“Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had worked throughout his entire life for building a happy, prosperous and non-communal nation. We should work concertedly to translate his dream into reality,” he said.
The Vice-Chancellor said this on Sunday while addressing as the chief guest at the “Nurunnahar Begum Memorial Lecture” at RC Majumder Arts auditorium of the university.
DU Center for Advanced Research in Humanities (CARH) organized the function with its President Prof Syed Manjurul Islam in the chair.
Conducted by the CARH Director Professor Dr Kazal Bandyopadhyay, Dean of DU Arts faculty Professor Dr Begum Akhter Kamal addressed the function as the special guest.
Liberation War Museum trustee Mafidul Haque presented the keynote on “Nationalism, National Entity and Spirit of Emancipation” at the function.
