The government has appointed Md Nojibur Rahman as new chairman of National Board of Revenue on Sunday.
He replaced Md Ghulam Hussain, who retired after serving NBR for more than two years.
Prior to the current assignment, Rahman had been working as the Secretary of the Ministry of Environment and Forest.
Nojibur Rahman, who is a 1982 regular batch officer of Bangladesh Civil Services, completed his bachelor and master’s degree in Social Science from Dhaka University.
He also did his master’s in Development Administration from Australian National University.
Before taking charge as new chief of NBR Rahman said, Teamwork will be the key to boosting revenue collection. “Cooperation with stakeholders will be important in the way forward.”
