Nobanno Utsab 1423 was held on Tuesday morning (November 15) with the
slogan ‘Let us gather at the ceremony of new harvest’
(Esho Mili Nobanner Utsabey) at the Fine Arts Faculty
of Dhaka University.
Jatiyo Nobanno Utsab Udjapon Porishad organised the festival with the financial assistance
of Labaid Hospital Ltd.
Finance Minister Abul Mal Abdul Muhit MP was present as the chief guest of the
festival, while Chairperson of the Nobanno Utsab Udjapon Porishad,
Layla Hasan presided over the ceremony.
While talking about his remarks about the festival AMA Muhit said in the
festival, “Nobanno Utsab
is the most important ceremony of our culture. But we are ignoring this ceremony and laying emphasis on first of Boishakh.”
This day is observed
countrywide.
The chief guest added that this ceremony should be observed spontaneously through the country. Wishing for better human condition and peace for the country
he inaugurated the festival.
Layla Hasan demanded the day as a public holiday.
While talking in this regard she said, “Our aim is to attract the youth to our original
culture.”
A large number of people gathered in the festival with colourful outfits. n
