Nobanno Utsab 1421, a traditional harvest festival, was celebrated across the country of the first day of Agrahayan, eighth month of Bangla calendar, on November 15.
Jatiyo Nobanno Utsab Udjapon Parishad, the celebration committee, organised a day-long cultural programme to celebrate the day at the Fine Arts Faculty of Dhaka University, popularly known as Charukala.
Noted language movement activist Ahmed Rafiq inaugurated the morning early in the morning on that day.
The auspicious beginning was followed by a rally called Nobanno Shobhajatra from Charukala at 9:30am, which paraded the Teachers- Students Centre (TSC) of Dhaka University intersection and returned to the Fine Arts Faculty.
The first part of the celebration was wrapped up with the completion of Nobanno Shobhajatra. The second part of the festival included music, dance, recitation, traditional games and discussion, which started from 3:00pm and was continued till 9:00pm.
Noted artist Abul Barq Alvi, media personality Shykh Seraj, Chairperson of Jatiyo Nobanno Utsab Udjapon Parishad Laila Hasan and convenor of the festival Shahriar Salam joined in the Nobanno Kothon, a discussion about the festival.
