Though TCB’s truck was supposed to unload on Monday with daily essential products including soybean oil, it is not unloading. A TCB press release said that there would be no truck sales this month to prepare for the marketing of products on family cards. TCB’s truck cell was to sell soybean oil at Tk110 per litre, where the market price is around Tk200. Besides, sugar was being sold at Tk55 per kg, lentils at Tk65 and gram at Tk50 per TCB truck.
Government said after the closure of the truck sale in Ramzan at the end of April, the sale would start from May 16 in all metros, districts and upazilas across the country through 300 open trucks. The announcement came a day before the sale was suspended. According to the notification, general track sale activities have been suspended for a short period from May 16 to 30 this month for distribution and implementation through family cards. In June, TCB will provide edible oil, lentil pulses and sugar.
