No syndicate remains to send worker to KL: Minister

Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Nurul Islam on Thursday said, there will be no syndicate to send workers to Malaysia.
“No syndicate will send workers to Malaysia anymore. Every legal recruiting agency will get the equal chance to do it,” the minister said it while addressing an introducing ceremony of the newly elected leaders of Bangladesh Association of International Recruiting Agencies (BAIRA) in his office.
The minister added that he would discuss the matter with Malaysian officials about sending workforce to the South East Asian country on 25th September while visiting the country. “We will work hard and monitor closely so that the workforce willing to go abroad would not be victim of fraud activities of dishonest agencies,” the minister said.
Acting Secretary of the Expatriate Ministry Begum Rounak Jahan and the Director General of BMET, Selim Reza and the Minister’s PS Md Abul Hasanat Humayun Kabir were present.
Besides, BAIRA President Benazir Ahmed, Senior Vice-President of BAIRA Shafiqul Alam Firoz, Vice-President Mansur Ahmed Kalam, Vice-President Mohammad Obaidul Arif, Secretary General Shamim Ahmed Chowdhury Noman, BAIRA leaders Abdul Hai, Bir Freedom Fighter Tajul Islam, Mohammad Ali, Md. Mizanur Rahman and Mohammad Ripon, were present on the occasion.
Begum Rounak Jahan said, “We have to build our manpower skilled and efficient. If we can send manpower to European countries as per their demands of skilled workforce, the speed of remittance will be increased sharply.”
