Special forces deployed: No strike in Ctg industrial areas

 The workers of the Readymade Garments (RMG) factories (RMG) in Chittagong did not respond to the call of Tuba Group labour unrest on Saturday for a countrywide strike.
All factories remained open and functioned normally.
Confirming the information, Arifur Rahaman Arif, Inspector of Chittagong Industrial Police (detective) told The Daily Observer that they deployed special forces for avoiding any untoward incident in Chittagong industrial areas.
Arif said a total of 500 industrial police and 100 Battalion police have been deployed in industrial areas in the morning for surveillance.
He said, the law enforcers have divided Chittagong into 10 divisions including CEPZ, KEPZ, Korian EPZ, Alanker intersection, Dewanhut Industrial Zone, Kalurghat Industrial Zone, Muradpur-Panchalish, Pahartali Industrial Zone and Bayzid Industrial Zone for deploying special force.
Nasiruddin Ahmed Chowdhury, first vice president of Bangladesh Garments Manufacturers and Exporters and Association (BGMEA) said, almost 500 garments factories of BGMEA and 100 garments factories of BKMEA were on operation normally.
No unpleasant incident occurred centring over the issue of Tuba Group labour unrest on Saturday in Chittagong and we hope that nothing untoward would be occurred in future also, he added.
