No scope to hold talks on national election: Maya

Dhaka City Awami League general secretary and Relief and Disaster Management Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya (Bir Bikram) said there is no scope for holding talks on the national polls, not to speak of holding parliamentary elections before 2019.

Begum Khaleda Zia’s recent call to her party leaders and workers for taking preparations for the national polls.
Speaking at a public rally on Monday in the city, the minister categorically said that in accordance with the constitution, the next polls to the Jatiya
Sangsad (Parliament) will be held under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the year 2019.
Awami Samarthak Jote organised the anti-hartal human-chain programme and the public rally in front of Awami League (AL) central office at Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital with its chairman and Dhaka City AL publicity secretary Abdul Huq Sabuj in the chair.
Publicity and Publication Affairs Secretary of the ruling AL Dr Hasan Mahmud attended the programme as special guest while Dhaka City AL acting president MA Aziz, vice-presidents Faezuddin Miah and Mukul Chowdhury spoke at the rally, among others.
