Law Minister Anisul Huq said on Friday that there is no scope of any debate centering the dismissal of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s bail petition in a graft case by the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC).
BNP leaders are now giving fabricated statements to uphold their cries later on leadership, the Minister said.
People still remember the misrule of BNP-Jamaat in the past. People don’t want to go back to those
days. He said this in a programme organised for laying the foundation stone of Akhaura Model Mosque and Islamic Cultural centre in Brahmanbaria on Friday.
The Appellate Division on Thursday rejected Khaleda Zia’s petition for bail in the Zia Charitable Trust corruption case.
A six-member Bench of the Appellate Division led by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, however, asked the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) authorities to render the BNP Chief advanced treatment immediately.
After the verdict, BNP said that it became frustrated and aggrieved with the order and depriving Khaleda of justice.
