No road link to Bandarban’s Ruma UZ for 12 days

Road communication between Ruma upazila and the district headquarters remained suspended for 12 days as different portion of the road was damaged due to landslide and torrential rain for the last nine days.
Ruma upazila chairman Uhlamong Marma said numerous cracks and several holes have been developed on Bandarban-Ruma road in Noy Maile, Baro Mile, Doulianpara, Koikhangjhiri areas due to the heavy rain.
Besides, different portion of the road caved in after heavy downpor, creating panic among local people.

The people of the upazila are using boats for going to their destinations.
Mohammad Shafique, sub-assistant engineer of Roads and Highways Department, said the authorities concerned are thinking of making an alternative road in the area for resuming the road link.
