No response to the hartal called by the Jamaat Islami in the port city yesterday. Jamaat has called countrywide hartal yesterday from dawn to dusk as well as in the port city.
The impact of hartal was not witnessed at anywhere in the port city and all sorts of transports seen plying in the street including heavy transports also.
The shops and other private and public offices runs as usual without any impact of hartal.
The long route buses and transport trucks also plying without any hindrances . Trains and airlines operated with scheduled time, sources said.
On the other hand additional police forces seen patrolling in the city to maintain law and order n the city.
Jamaat called daylong hartal following the arrest of jamaat amir and 8 others on Monday.As a part of their 3 days action programs, yesterday observed the hartal across the country.
Kotwali thana police sources said a pro-hartal procession was brought out in Dewan bazaar on Wednesday night but before presence o f law enforcers the picters fled away quickly from the spot.
