Though four years had gone into the past on March 20, there was no progress in unearthing the mystery behind the murder of Victoria College student Sohagi Jahan Tonu.
The theater activist was killed after rape on the border of the Cumilla Cantonment on this day in 2016. The surprising event is that none has been arrested even.

the family has cast doubts on getting justice. The agency has stopped communicating with the family and responding to their phone calls.
Victim father and complainant Year Hoissain said that they are completely frustrated about the future of the case. Rather, we believe in Almighty Allah for justice. Investigation officers’ couldn’t maintain the communication with us properly.
Victim’s mother Anwara Begum said law enforcers couldn’t do anything. Even I told the police to arrest the accused who called out my daughter from the residence, but they didn’t care. “It seems the murder is intentionally being delated, Tonu’s mother Anwara added.
Anwara said the stress of their daughter’s murder has taken toll on Tonu’s father, Yaar Hossain. He is not physically okay now.
“Our hopes of getting justice are dimming as time passes,” said Anwara.
Jalal Uddin Ahmed, Investigating Officer (CID) of the murder case, recently said that they were trying to match DNA samples with suspects. Actually we have got some DNA reports but need to match after making profile which is quite impossible in the country.
It is done in London or Newyork City.
