No plan to relax age limit for govt jobs

State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain said the government has no plans to raise the age limit for entering into government service right now.
He said this in response to a question from BNP MP Mosharraf Hossain of Bogra-4 constituency in the 14th session of the Parliament on Tuesday.
The state minister said that earlier there was a big session jam in various educational institutions including universities but there is no considerable session jam now.
Students generally sit for SSC at the age of 16 and HSC at 18, and they graduate at 23-24. Jobseekers get six to seven years to apply for government jobs after graduation, as the age limit for entering civil service is 30 years at present, he said.
Replying to a question from Ali Azam, MP, Bhola-2 constituency, the state minister for public administration said, “According to the demand of various ministries or departments, PSC has recruited 4,285 students in 9th or above grades from 2009 to August 2021. Besides, 32,065 candidates have been recommended for appointment to various non-cadre posts in second class (10th, 11th, and 12th grades).”
