The ruling Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader said, party insiders or outsiders who are involved in misdeeds are now under the scanner. No wrongdoers will be spared.
He was addressing a view-exchange meeting with journalists at Feni Circuit House on Saturday.
Quader claimed that Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is manipulating the issue of party Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s illness for political gain.
“The doctors’ observation regarding the health condition of Khaleda Zia is quite different from that of BNP leaders and her family members. They are interested more in reaping
political gains than being anxious about the health condition of Khaleda Zia,” he said.
Quader also Minister for Road Transport and Bridges said, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina showed her great courage by launching such drives against the partymen. Referring to the ongoing drives against wrongdoers and corruption.
Quader said, he was not aware of any such drives launched against the ruling partymen by any state.
“Allegations may arise against anyone. But, if found guilty, action will be taken,” the Minister said.
Mentioning the imprisonment of a Parliament Member of Cox’s Bazar, the Minister said the Prime Minister proved that no one is above the law, no matter how powerful they are and the drive will continue.
AL Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif, Organising Secretary AKM Enamul Haque Shamim and local lawmaker Nizam Uddin Hazari were, among others, present on the occasion.
