Fisheries and Livestock Minister Narayan Chandra Chanda urged the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) to remain alert to prevent rumors creating artificial crisis of sacrificial animals in the country during the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha.
“The country has adequate sacrificial animals…I urge all of you to remain alert so that none can spread rumors to create artificial crisis of sacrificial animals… We need not to bring animals from outside the country,” he told the DCs.
The minister said this on Thursday while speaking at a meeting with the heads of country’s district administrations on the third day of three-day DC Conference at the Cabinet Division here.
“Please remain alert against the culprits who would want to create an unstable situation in the animal market,” Narayan said.
The sacrificial animals would be brought under the health screening, he said, adding the government has taken all preparations so that the people can sacrifice quality and healthy animals.
