No need stabilizer in Walton fridge

Business Desk :
The country’s electronics giant Walton is manufacturing and marketing refrigerators with inverter compressors, for which customers need not to use any voltage stabilizer to protect from voltage fluctuations, says a press release.
As a result, a user of Walton brand inverter technology’s refrigerators could save two to three thousand taka cost of buying a stabilizer.
To get the rid of fridge users from voltage stabilizers, Walton at its own factory started the production of frost and non-frost refrigerators with the inverter technology’s compressors. These inverter compressors of Walton fridges are specially designed to start up the fridge smoothly in the electricity flow between 100 and 280 volt.
The inverter technology encouraged the other local fridge manufacturers to add technology in their fridges. Walton authorities said, they are now manufacturing and marketing more than 30 models of frost and non-frost refrigerators that could be run smoothly without using stabilizers. They planned to make their all models of refrigerators stabilizer-free within the next year.
Engineers of Fridge Research and Development Department of Walton informed that they conducted a survey to gather information about voltage fluctuation through visiting the home of their fridge users.
In that survey, they found the minimum electricity flow was 110 volt. When the electricity went out and then abruptly goes on, there has been possibility of reverse rotation of the motor of the compressor. As a result, compressor could have been damaged.
But, it would not happen in the inverter compressor of Walton fridge, they said adding, their inverter fridges has low voltage start up capacity.
Dwelling on the distinctive features of intelligent inverter refrigerators, Engineer Ashraful Ambia, Executive Director (Sourcing Engineering Dept) of Walton Group, said that only the refrigerators with inverter compressors would be huge power efficient.
He explained that the inverter compressors never switch off even when the temperature stabilizes, but runs at a slower speed maintaining the temperature inside the refrigerators. Thus, the inverter technology’s refrigerators usually consume around 60 percent lesser electricity than the induction or general technology’s fridges.
Engineer Meer Muzahedin Islam said they are manufacturing stabilizer-free refrigerators with huge power efficient inverter compressors that have low-voltage start up capacity.
