News Desk :
The Secondary School Certificate (SSC)-2022 will be held on short syllabus fixed by the Education Ministry. This syllabus will not be revised anymore.
Education Minister Dipu Moni came up with the announcement on Wednesday in a programme at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU).
The demand of shortening syllabus again will not be accepted anymore, the Minister said.
“Dipu Moni said, “Due to coronavirus situation, the syllabuses of this years’ SSC and HSC will be briefed. After completing the syllabuses, the examinations will be held. I urged the students to be more attentive in classes.”
The SSC and HSC exams are scheduled to begin on November 14 and December 2 respectively.
The Reporters Unity’s executive committee president Mursalin Nomani, architect Nikhil Chandra Guho, general secretary Moshiur Rahman were present in the programme.
Meanwhile, the education minister said: “We have already shortened the syllabus of the SSC and HSC exams due to Covid-19. We will take the exam after finishing that short syllabus.
“We will not entertain any request to shorten the syllabus more. Therefore, students should pay more attention to their studies according to the short syllabus,” she added.
This year SSC exams will start on November 14 and end on November 23, while the HSC exams will start on December 2 and end on December 30.
Earlier, with a curtailed number of subject-wise tests and shortened syllabuses, this year’s SSC and Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) exams are set to begin on 14 November and 2 December respectively.
Advising the students to concentrate more on their studies, the minister said, “Any protest regarding this matter will not affect our decision.”
SSC and its equivalent exams are usually held in February and HSC in April. The government had to defer this year’s SSC, HSC,
and equivalent examinations due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Last year, the results of HSC examinees were determined on the basis of their previous SSC and JSC results while students of other classes got promoted to the next classes automatically.
