The mayor said any kind of Eid cattle markets will never be set up in the play grounds of DSCC as the fields would be kept preserved for organizing sports- related activities.
“The playground will now remain open for children, and teenagers even elderly people can also use the spaces for walking,” he said.

The press conference was organized for a tournament titled ‘Inter-Ward Sports Competition 2021’ with two major categories- football and cricket – on the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
He said the fields, which have been illegally occupied, will be recovered from the illegal grabbers soon in phases as many fields have been preoccupied by the grabbers, he added.

“That is why DSCC is going to organize “Inter Ward Sports Competition-1427″ for the first time in 75 wards simultaneously to spread the sports-spirit of Bangabandhu among the new generation marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation”, he said.
He added that the forthcoming sports competition is going to build up worthy players from the ward-level in future.
