The residents of Dhaka’s Agargaon and Mirpur areas will not get gas today (Wednesday) for eight hours from 10am as a gas pipeline will be removed from the Rokeya Sarani. No gas will be supplied to Monipur, Kazipara, Sheorapara, Pirerbagh, Barobag, Agargaon and some parts of Mirpur during the time, said Md Shahjahan, Deputy General Manager (DGM) of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Ltd.
The pipeline will be removed in order to start the construction of the Dhaka Metro Rail in June next year.
The government started relocating infrastructure for implementing the Metro Rail project since November this year.
Last month, one of the lanes of the road from Taltola to Mirpur Section 10 intersection was dug to replace an underground electric wire.
The commuters suffered as one of the three lanes of the road remained suspended for movment.
