Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) has not found any evidence to support the allegation that a woman was held at a Government Railway Police’s (GRP) Khulna station and was violated the
whole night by five policemen.
PBI has submitted a final report in this case to the court. However, the PBI has found evidence that the woman who alleged that she was raped, was kept at the police station and beaten.
While informing this at a press briefing at the PBI office on Monday, PBI Khulna’s Police Superintendent M Anisur Rahman said the final report of the investigation has been submitted to the court.
“The victim was advised to have her DNA tested. But, she did not want to do it,, the GRP official said.
PBI’s Investigating Officer (IO) Sheikh Abu Bakar did not find any evidence of sexual harassment or rape against Pathan or the other police members.
Earlier, Khulna GRP arrested the woman along with five bottles of phensedyl syrup from a Khulna-bound train on August 2, 2019.
After filing of a case, she was kept at thana hazat at night. But, the woman filed a case against five policemen, including Oficer-in-Charge (OC) of Government Railway Police (GRP) Osman Gani Pathan, for allegedly gang-rape her in custody.
Following a court order, a case has been filed accusing five cops and a three-member medical board was formed.
