No entry to Ramna Park, Suhrawardy Udyan on Pahela Baishakh after 4pm

The government has decided to restrict entry to the historic Suhrawardy Udyan and Ramna Park after 4:00pm during Pahela Baishakh celebrations on April 14, the first day of the Bangla New Year.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Additional Commissioner Monirul Islam revealed this in a press briefing at its media centre on Wednesday.
The DMP Additional Commissioner said, people are being advised to pack up celebrations at Ramna Park and Suhrawardy Udyan before 5:00pm.
The DMP spokesman said, “There is no threat to celebrating the Bangla New Year. We have made the decision taking into account some incidents that occurred in the past.”
 Details of the security measures taken for the New Year celebrations will be unveiled before two days of the Pahela Baishakh.
He sought countrymen’s help to make the celebrations a success.
The police official repeated ban on wearing of masks and fluting Vuvuzela that creates an obnoxious sound.
