UNB, Dhaka :
Criticising ministers for their contradictory versions about the arrest of Narayanganj seven-murder case prime
suspect Nur Hossain, BNP on Monday alleged that the current illegal regime lacks coordination in running the state as the ministers are busy plundering public money.
“Being the ruling party secretary general and a very important minister of the government, Syed Ashraf doesn’t know about the arrest while the Narayanganj SP said he (Nur) was arrested. The state minister for home also confirmed it,” said BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
Addressing a press conference at BNP’s Nayapaltan central office, he further said, “The government’s real face has been exposed with Syed Ashraf’s remarks. It’s also proved
there is no coordination within the government.”
Earlier in the day, LGRD Minister and Awami League General Secretary Syed Ashraful Islam said the government does not know anything about the arrest of Nur Hossain in Kolkata.
Talking to reporters after inaugurating a two-week tree plantation campaign at city’s Khamar Bari, he also said they have come to know about Hossain’s arrest through newspapers.
Nur Hossain was arrested from an apartment in Kolkata on Saturday night and placed on an eight-day remand the following day.
On Sunday, State Minister for Home Affairs Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said the government has started the process to bring Nur Hossain and his aides back home from India under the prisoner-exchange treaty between the two countries.
Reacting to Ashraf’s remark, Fakhrul said his remark has also exposed how the government is ruing the state and where they have taken the governing system.
He alleged the main aim of the present government is to loot public money clinging to power by killing, harassing and repressing the opposition leaders and activists.
Fakhrul said the country’ people now want a free and fair election immediately to establish a pro-people and democratic government with their votes.
