UNB, Dhaka :The government has decided to keep suspended all the public works, renovation and construction works on roads in the capital during the month of Ramzan.Talking to reporters at the Secretariat after an inter-ministerial meeting for easing the city’s vexing traffic jam during Ramzan, Communications Minister Obaidul Quader said it has been decided that DNCC, DSCC and DWASA will keep suspended all kinds of works on roads as well as filling up of holes on reads already created by the construction works to ease the traffic condition of the capital ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr.The DNCC (Dhaka North City Corporation) and the DSCC (Dhaka South City Corporation) will take actions to remove the dustbins placed haphazardly on roads that have been causing traffic jam, besides the construction and renovation works that have been going on different busy areas of the capital, he said.The minister mentioned that the flyover construction works at Mouchak, Shantinagar, Sat Rasta areas are leading to huge traffic congestions and the works will remain stopped till Eid-ul-Fitr.The two city corporations have also been asked to evacuate illegal structures, including mobile shops, on roads, Quader said.
